Who is Stephen Patterson of Orangefield?

Stephen Patterson from Orangefield is an educator who has always been dedicated to his passion for teaching. After first earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with certification in mathematics, he continued on to receive a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. Stephen then chose to pursue a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, and from there, he continued on to earn a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas.
While pursuing his doctorate, Stephen Patterson worked at this university as an Adjunct Professor in the Educational Leadership department. He simultaneously gained teaching experience as a middle school math teacher in the Beaumont Independent School District.
Stephen quickly rose up the ranks from teacher to Assistant Principal. Two short years later he was promoted to the role of Principal of Orangefield High School Principal, before once again being promoted to the role of Superintendent of Schools for the Orangefield Independent School District. One of Stephen’s proudest accomplishments is the creation of a Fine Arts partnership with the Lutcher Community Theater to enhance exposure for students grade K-12. This passion and dedication qualified Stephen as a runner-up for the 2018 Superintendent of the Year award in Texas.
When he’s not working, Stephen is a very active member of his community. He spent years serving on the board and acting Chairman of the Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he served on the board of the Nelda & H.J.Lutcher Stark Foundation.
On top of a fulfilling career as an educator and an active member of his community, Stephen Patterson loves to relax and unwind with his favorite sport of golf.
